The mission of the Women’s Ministry of First Baptist Church of Palmer is to offer women of all ages opportunities for personal growth and ministry, as well as opportunities to serve others with the love and compassion of Christ. Men’s Ministry

Led by Paul Burns

The mission of the Men’s Ministry at First Baptist Church of Palmer is to be an instrument of God to reach men and build them into a community of Christian disciples who, through the Holy Spirit, reflect the attitude of Christ in all areas of their lives. We have a monthly prayer breakfast and encourage all men and boys to attend for food, fellowship, and study of God’s Word.

Men’s Breakfast: Every 2nd Saturday, 8:30 AM

Son Shine Club

The Son Shine Club is a group of Christians who gather together to play games, eat, and fellowship. We also go on special outings such as museums, movies, and plays. We meet once a month on the second Tuesday of the month in the fellowship area of the church at 6:30pm. Most of our members are over 50, but any fun loving, young at heart individual is encouraged to attend. Matthew 5:16 is our theme verse. ‘So let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and honor your Father which is in Heaven.’

Kids Bible Club

Led by Darla Gardner

Kids Bible Club workers are so excited to be able to spend time with a child and plant seeds that will hopefully lead them to the kingdom of Christ one day. Some of the children that we spend time with may not feel loved or wanted any other place than from us on Wednesday nights. How awesome is God that he gives us such an important responsibility to be the face, hands, and feet of Christ to these kids. We strive to leave the world at the door and let the kids see and hear nothing but Christ in us each week.

Girls Missionary Auxiliary

Led by Teel Witt, Darla Gardner, Hayley Rasco, Lisa Maynard, and Rhonda Southard

The GMA program takes a girl step by step into a relationship with Jesus. As she advances each year in the Forward Steps (a program of lessons and projects to complete), she grows in that relationship. The Forward Steps develop a genuine love for God and His way of life. They concentrate on a positive Christian witness. They reward hard work and honor those who are willing to commit themselves to learning. The GMA program teaches all phases of missions. This begins when a girl becomes a Christian by focusing on her place as a missionary in God’s plan. It continues with studies of and contact with association Baptist missionaries. Every lesson in the Forward Steps relates to missions. GMA introduces learn-by-doing experiences that involve the girls in helping others by using their talents in special ways in the community. Not only are they learning how to show God’s love, but they are learning how to be good citizens as well. GMA is all this and more! It is an exciting learning experience for girls and counselors alike.

Sunbeams

Led by Kristi Wilson

The Sunbeam program is a Bible-study club for children. This 7-year program, founded by the Women’s Missionary Auxiliary, is dedicated to studying God’s Word, the history and work of the church, and the missionary efforts of the Baptist Missionary Association of America. The Sunbeam program is a training program designed to help the children develop a firm foundation of the Christian principles and doctrines found in the Bible. The goal of the program is to train the child to live in his/her world — home, community and church — and to challenge the child to know more of God and how to live for Him.

Galileans

Led by Darrell Rasco, Paul Burns, and Logan Mitchell

The Galilean Ministry is focused on training young men to be disciples of Jesus and to helping them grow in their relationship with Christ by diligent study. The Galilean program is divided into six levels of study, called steps. Each step contains the basic elements of personal service, mission studies, Christian witnessing, Bible study, and church involvement. Within each of these steps, the young man will spend time in memorization and Bible study. He will spend time in service to his church, read and study concerning missionary work, and preform personal service projects for his church. By the time a boy has completed the Steps, he will have memorized 263 verses of Scripture, be able to lead another to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, and have completed outlines on the Life of Christ and the Life of Paul, both based on personal study and research.

Nursery

Led by Lisa Maynard

FBC’s nursery is designed and equipped to minister to both babies and toddlers. It is our desire at First Baptist to have a room that is environmentally safe and clean; to establish an atmosphere of love and laughter for young children so they may experience the love of Christ from the volunteers caring for them; and to give parents confidence that their precious children are being cared for by loving and trustworthy caregivers and volunteers. We believe every child can experience the wonderful love of God through the nursery ministry.
